Previous Entry Add to Memories Tell a Friend Next Entry

Sorry it's been so long since my last post.  It's been a crazy month.

1.  Kevin and I moved into our new house!  Yay! Even though I despise every aspect of moving house, I'm very happy that we're in our house now.  If you need my new address, email me or message me here.

2.  I went to Hobbs for a week and I got to fly on a really small plane.  I actually have pictures of this.  I'll post in more detail later.

3.  I went to Washington, D.C. on a work-related boondoggle.  I saw my fam and friends.  Can you believe that Cheeky McGee is already 8 months old?!?

4.  We had our first home disaster.  Of course, it happened on a Sunday evening.  A valve connecting to our water heater broke causing water to flood the garage.  Luckily, nothing was damaged except some carpet that is soon going to be torn out and replaced with nice wood.  Once the wood is in, though, it better not happen again.

5.  We had a joint garage sale with the in-laws.  It was very successful and sort of fun, actually.  If only it hadn't snowed the day before.  Brrr!

6.  Kev had a birthday!  We went on a train ride from Santa Fe to Lamy.  It was  ton of fun.  I have pictures of this, too, and I'll post in more detail later.  Perhaps I'll do another photo montage post in the near future.

7.  Two words: stripping wallpaper.  Time consuming and not fun.

So, in sum, we've been busy little bees!  We also don't have internet at our house yet and I happened to have lost my camera recently.  I'll get back on the livejournal bandwagon soon, though.

  • Would these in-laws be Uncle Mike and Aunt Adrienne (i can never spell her name right) OR my my own dear parental units? (cause they said nuffink if it was them)

Also congrats on the new pad! I'll be excited to see the place when I get home from school.

(Also now that I'm 21 you and me and the kev should go out for drinks sometimes. I feel like i never hang with my cousins anymore!)
    • Movin' on up, to the East Side...

The garage sale involved in-laws were my parents, although more specifically, just my Mom. Dad tries to pretend he supports capitalism, but in practice he is much more skeptical.

Your Dad did help us with the move though. Even when it involved a piano. That piano almost killed us all.

About the bar scene, the DragonRoom appears to be going downhill. Rio Chama still receives a thumbs-up along with El Farol, and Hotel St. Francis. The new Brennan house will be respectable once we get a floor.

      Good luck with finals! sucker...

Hey, our first house-disaster was a water heater leaking H20, too. Then there was the roof leaking rain. Oh, and the drug dealers behind the house, leaking a whole lotta stupid. But it's all better now! Come and visit, again! We won't see ladies walking around the morning after Tgiving without pants (and underpants) anymore -- we have a new Target three blocks away, which means we're urban-upscale! The new Starbucks clinches it. Starbucks creates an anti bad-naked forcefield within a mile radius.

Dare I say it: I'm feeling a bit nostalgic for the past.

POST PICTURES OF YOUR HOME REHAB! You're like your own HGTV show! Don't you just wish it took half an hour to complete a project? :) xo m

Yes, that's a good idea to post our home improvement progress. The wallpaper scraping was... well... it was something. Let's just say we're going to need a wee bit of putty before we start painting. In floor news, we've picked out our floor and yesterday we had precise measurements taken. Yay!

Hey, did you know that the ads on the RH banner along your blogger page advertise "party clothes" for women? Only problem is, to wear the party-clothes as advertized, you have to get a boob(s) job so your boobs are perfectly round globes press-applied onto your chestal zone.

So, back to those walls and floors... post pics, please!
